"Tissue" by Imtiaz Dharker is a thought-provoking poem that explores the idea of using paper as a building material and its potential to create a new type of architecture. The poem uses vivid imagery to compare paper to the structure of our lives, showing how easily it can be manipulated and shaped.

Throughout the poem, the speaker reflects on the various forms of paper in our lives, from religious texts and maps to grocery receipts, and how they hold the stories and details of our existence.

With its use of language and vivid imagery, "Tissue" offers a unique perspective on the delicate and fragile nature of life and the power of paper to capture and preserve it.

Through close analysis and discussion of the poem's themes, imagery, and structure, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the power and beauty of poetry, and develop the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to succeed at the GCSE level and beyond.
